Nadal beats Federer

Yet again, the final between the two rivals, Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer in the Australian open turns out to be the most exciting match of the season. The Finals turns out to be in favour of Nadal, but who really wins is just a matter of that final day, and that final game. In their respect, I would say that final set.

The score of the match finally stands with Nadal's victory at 7-5, 3-6, 7-6 (7-3), 3-6, 6-2. This turns out to be disheartening for Federer who hoped to win, to match the record of Pete Sampras of 14 grand slams.

Federer on receiving the Runner’s up trophy from his idol Rod Laver, choked and burst into tears and couldn’t even say anything more than a few lines in his speech. He remarked, "God, it's killing me” moving away from the microphone. And the only words of his speech were "I don't want to have the last word; this guy deserves it. So, Rafa, congratulations. You played incredible. You deserve it, man."

Nadal who had to face the longest match in the Semi-Finals against Fernando Verdasco which lasted for 5 hours and 14 minutes, was a classical triumph. He had one day fewer than Federer before this match and also had to go through that semi-final just before this match. He said, “He was light headed in his practice just before the match and was afraid that he would not be able to give it his best, in his first shot in Australia and he was certainly not happy about it.”

Nadal concluded saying, “But in the end, everything worked out well for me.”
